COMMITMENT ISSUES

I’m head over heels for a guy who doesn’t know what he wants

READ Dear Deidre Editor Sally Land's personal replies to today's problems.

DEAR DEIDRE: I'VE fallen for a guy who doesn't seem to know what he wants. I'm a 24-year-old man and he's 25.

We met on a hook up six months ago and have been sleeping together regularly ever since.

I sent a text recently admitting that I'd fallen for him but he sent a message back saying he doesn't want to see me any more because he doesn't want to talk about his feelings.

Talk about misreading the signs! I thought he felt the same way.

Then when I went back on the same app he became really jealous. He said he didn't know how he felt about me but was annoyed and kept blocking me.

Then I bumped into him when I was leaving a club one night and he messaged me later asking if he could come over to talk. He was quite upset.

He opened up about his childhood trauma saying he was not in the right place for a relationship.

He left and since then I haven't heard from him. Am I wasting my time?

DEIDRE SAYS: Probably. It's not surprising you wonder where you stand with him.

He's a troubled young man but you aren't going to be able to fix him. He needs professional help for the childhood trauma he suffered.

At least take a step back and see how long it takes him to get in touch off his own bat.
