How do I get a girl to notice me?
DEAR DEIDRE: A girl at college is just my type but I don’t know how to get her to notice me.
We are both 19 and in some of the same classes. She always says hello and smiles when we see each other.
I want to get to know her better, but I have no idea how to talk to her or make it clear that I fancy her.
I have always been shy around girls and haven’t had a proper girlfriend. When I see her, I feel embarrassed and go red, which doesn’t help.

Next time, just ask a harmless question like “How’s it going?” to start a chat. If she’s happy to talk, get to know her slowly and then suggest a coffee.
You’ll soon be able to gauge if she’s interested. At the very least, you could form a friendship.
