Am I wrong for wanting the money back I ended up lending my husband?
DEAR DEIDRE: EVEN though I spent a small fortune on a luxury holiday, I ended up lending my husband hundreds of pounds while we were there because he’d run out.
He still hasn’t paid me back and I feel as though he isn’t sticking to his word.
I’m 46 and my husband is 48. He paid for meals, a boat trip and taxi fares. He normally pays for our holidays too.
He got a bonus at work this month and had at least £600 after tax.
I thought he’d repay some, but I didn’t see a penny. He just said there were other things he needed to pay for.
I only have a little savings and need to be careful with what I have.

DEIDRE SAYS: If you made it clear it was a loan then you need to bring this up.
It may be that he can’t afford to pay you back immediately or, at worst, he has no intention of paying you back.
Both these issues need to be tackled. He sounds to be overstretching himself if he has to borrow money from you.
