I’ve fallen for a much older woman and my friends say it’s wrong
DEAR DEIDRE: The woman of my dreams feels the same way about me, but she is 12 years older.
My mates say she’s far too old for me and it’s wrong for us to date. Are they right?
I’m 18 and the woman I like is 30. She works in the local cafe, and we’ve been chatting for months.
I’ve always thought she was gorgeous. She smiles whenever she sees me, so, one day, I plucked up the courage to ask her out on a date.
To my amazement, she said yes. Since then, we’ve been out a few times and have slept together.
I’d like her to be my girlfriend but my friends say she’s just using me and it won’t last.

DEIDRE SAYS: Age gap relationships can work but you’re at different life stages. She may want to settle and have a family before you.
Also, while the law considers you an adult, the reality is you will have a lot less life experience than this woman.
Please be very careful and ask yourself why she is interested in dating someone so much younger.
Your friends think she is using you, so please take your time.
