Is my boyfriend going to break up with me?
DEAR DEIDRE: My boyfriend is acting really weirdly and I’m worried he’s going to break up with me.
He has started saying I can do better than him, but I love him and don’t want anyone else. We’re 18 and have been together for two years.
Everything was fine until two weeks ago, when he messaged to say he couldn’t meet because he felt ill.
Since then, even though he is better, he has hardly contacted me.
When I pushed him to explain why, he said he thought I deserved to be with someone better. I have no idea what’s going on.

DEIDRE SAYS: It’s possible he has decided he doesn’t want a relationship, or he may have met someone else and doesn’t know how to tell you. Or maybe he’s just feeling depressed.
Message him to ask if you can meet and talk, as this isn’t fair to you. If he refuses, you might have to accept the relationship is over.
