I am worried ex-husband’s heavy debt will hurt our children’s future
DEAR DEIDRE: I’M fretting about the heavy debts my ex-husband has accumulated throughout our marriage.
A few weeks ago, we separated and I moved in with my parents.
I’ve only learned about his debts since moving out and I’m really concerned about our future and those of our children.
I’m 48, my ex is 47 and our children are teenagers.
I had planned to use my half of the money from the sale of the house to secure a smaller place for the three of us.
Now I’m not sure this will happen. What can I do?
