My height is no laughing matter
DEAR DEIDRE: A female friend won’t go out with me because I’m two inches shorter than her – even though we have lots in common and get on well.
I’m 58 and only 5ft 5in tall. She is 54.
I’ve got a good job, dress well and have many friends. But I have always had problems attracting women because of my height.
My ex-wife didn’t mind but when our marriage broke down, she did make some comments about my height to hurt me. She knew I had a complex about it.
I’ve been close to my female friend for six months, since we met online.
Everything was perfect between us until we met in person. She then said she didn’t fancy me and couldn’t be with a man who is shorter than her.

Sadly, we can’t expect that others will fancy us or feel any chemistry.
Convention says men should be taller.
But many small men have successful relationships and are considered sexy.
