Izzy gets taste of her own medicine as new man gets the ick
DEIDRE SAYS: EVERYONE gets an attack of the “ick” at some stage – it’s that sudden feeling of repulsion towards someone you previously fancied.
Sometimes the ick creeps up because subconsciously we self-sabotage – convinced we are going to be rejected, we get in there first.
Some women have strong feelings of attraction while they are ovulating, but those hormonal pulls fall away dramatically in the luteal phase, or second stage, of the cycle.
It is always a shame to throw away a potentially brilliant partnership and happy future for something as minor as looking childish with a backpack.
So in future, try to ride out any sudden change of heart – give it a few days to see if your feelings even out.
But by the same token, if those feelings of revulsion remain, then the best thing you can do for both of you is move on.
