I am petrified of losing my job and becoming homeless – I have no savings
DEAR DEIDRE: THE fear of becoming homeless is keeping me awake at night.
I can barely afford my rent, let alone get on the housing ladder, and I’m desperately anxious about the future.
I’m a 35-year-old single man in a low-paid job. I’ve always dreamed of owning my own home in the town, but I fear it’s now impossible.
The cost of living is so high I can’t save anything.
Not only will I probably rent for the rest of my life, but if my bills go up any more, I might actually end up on the street.
I see people begging outside the supermarket and realise it could be me.
