I’ve ruined an important friendship saying something stupid – I regret it so much
DEAR DEDIRE: I’VE ruined an important friendship by saying something mean and stupid.
Now I really regret it and I miss this person so much.
We’re both girls of 16, and had been close from the first week of secondary school.
I felt like I could talk to her about anything. But last year we had a huge fight because she said my boyfriend wasn’t good enough for me.

I said she was jealous because boys think I’m prettier.
I don’t know why I said it – it’s not even true.
But we stopped being friends and ended up blocking each other on social media.
How can I get our friendship back to where it was?
DEIDRE SAYS: Sometimes friendships do end.
But if you really regret it, send her a hand-written note saying how sorry you are.
Explain how much you regret your words and ask her if she would consider forgiving you.
My support pack, Rows With Friends, should help.
