A local loan shark is threatening to hurt me if I don’t pay up in full

DEAR DEIDRE: I OWE a lot of money to a well-known loan shark.
Everyone locally knows the police don’t do anything about him, or the people who work for him.
He sends thugs to threaten and intimidate me.
It’s been going on for three years and I am so frightened.
I’m a woman of 33 and won’t leave my flat after he paid my neighbour to spy on me.
This loan shark says he wants my house smashed to pieces and to break every bone in my body.
You can also send a private message on the Facebook page.
He put my friend in hospital for three weeks. I’ve got half of what I owe but he won’t take it.
I constantly think about finding an escape, but it’s just so hopeless.
DEIDRE SAYS: This is appalling.
Loan sharks may appear friendly at first but quickly trap their victims into a vicious cycle of spiralling debts through threats, violence, and intimidation.
They will also advise you to contact the police.
My support pack Solving Debt Problems can help.
