I thought date with guy went well but I have not heard from him since

DEAR DEIDRE: TWO years ago I stood a guy up as I really liked him and was too nervous to go through with the date.

I have never forgotten him.

I always regretted letting him down and so recently got back in contact and apologised.

He was so pleased to hear from me and said he would call me – but it took him months.

Then he messaged explaining he thought I was too good for him.

We’re both 34. We have since met up and it went well.

But again, he said he would message the next day but I heard nothing. That was two months ago.

I wished him a happy birthday a fortnight ago but he hasn’t responded.

I am left feeling sad, confused and rejected.

DEIDRE SAYS: It is unfair to vanish without an explanation. He has taken the coward’s way out.
