When I was consumed with grief you helped me see the light
DEAR DEIDRE: DEALING with one loss after another had driven me to breaking point.
After suffering a miscarriage, my beloved father died, and then my boyfriend told me he wanted to break up with me.
At 35, I felt bereft, confused and very alone. It was all too much to bear.
I wrote to you in desperation, Deidre, hoping you could help me to climb out of a deep well of despair.
You sent me your support pack, Bereavement, which really helped me, and recommended I reach out to a counsellor.
You also gave me some contact details for the Miscarriage Association (, 01924 200 799) and advised me to contact my GP if my depression didn’t lift.
You can also send a private message on the Facebook page.
DEIDRE SAYS: Grief can be over-whelming but you have taken the first steps to face up to those powerful emotions.
I’m so glad to hear that I was able to help to support you.
