I have lost sex drive since mum died and girlfriend is getting impatient

DEAR DEIDRE: SINCE my mum passed away, I’ve lost my sex drive – but my girlfriend thinks I don’t fancy her any more.

She is 25 and I’m 27. I love her to bits, and don’t want to lose her, but I need to be on my own a lot more.

I even enjoy sleeping alone now which is not like me.

The death of my mum hit me hard. We were very close.

The grief I feel from losing her puts me in solitary mode.

My girlfriend was patient and understood this in the first few months after Mum died.

She was super supportive and even helped me when I couldn’t face dealing with the funeral arrangements.

But now she’s confused and keeps asking if I fancy her.

I don’t mean to make her feel insecure, it’s just sex is the last thing on my mind.

It’s been a year since my mum died. Why do I still feel like this?

I fear my girlfriend will leave me if I don’t snap out of this.
