I’ve fallen for my friend but don’t want to scare him off with my feelings
DEAR DEIDRE: I’VE fallen for my friend but I don’t want to scare him off by revealing my feelings.
My friends say he likes me too and we’d be perfect together, yet I’m worried about ruining our friendship.
We’re both 17 and have been friends since the start of college. He’s the nicest guy – he was really kind to me after my gran died.
We have lots of flirty banter and laugh all the time, and I’ve realised I fancy him loads.
I know he’s been hurt in the past, so he’s wary of getting into a relationship.
Should I say something?

DEIDRE SAYS: Someone has to make the first move. If you don’t say something, you’ll never know how he feels.
Let him know that if he doesn’t return your feelings, you still want to be friends.
If you’re too nervous to be up front, ask a mutual friend to subtly let him know.
