I’m miserable after people in my village make fun of my eye patch – I can’t get away from my disability

DEAR DEIDRE: HOW wrong I was when I thought people in villages were quiet and kind.

I can’t wait to move back to my hometown.

I’m 42 and had to have my eye removed after an accident so I wear a patch over it.

I recently moved to a cottage in the countryside.

It seemed perfect.

I went to the pub and I was served but nobody talked to me and I was stared at.
