Tensions continue to rise between Gabby, Michelle and her boyfriend
DEIDRE SAYS: AS Gabby’s best friend, it is only natural to want to support and encourage her.
But it is also crucial that you both understand her mental wellbeing is her responsibility.
You can support her by listening, encouraging her to keep active and make a wide circle of friends.
If Gabby needs serious mental health support, she should see her GP or get in contact with MIND ( or 0300 123 3393).
You are not responsible for her wellbeing, so please do not put your life on hold for her. Not only will you limit your own future, but you won’t be helping her to grow and be less dependent either.
She will become more resilient by learning to make wider friendships and organise a social life that isn’t entirely reliant on one person.
There is always a re-adjustment in friendships when a new relationship takes off.
Gabby is struggling to recalibrate, but don’t let it destroy your romance.
