DEIDRE SAYS: IT is always very difficult to see a parent embark on a new relationship, especially if the other parent has died.
But it is important to remember that even if your mum does find somebody new, this does not detract in any way from the love she had for your dad.
It is absolutely possible to love two different people in this context.
And your mother really does deserve to be happy again after your father died.
After all, you will no doubt leave home soon and start your own independent life.
You wouldn’t want your mum to be lonely, would you?
