I’m 22 and lost total use of my legs due to spina bifida – I have no will to live any more
DEAR DEIDRE: I SPEND everyday waiting at home for my carers.
I have no friends, no family and, to be honest, no will to live any more.

I’m 22 and was diagnosed with spina bifida a few weeks after I was born.
My parents couldn’t cope with my condition so they put me into care.
When I was 18, I moved into council housing.
Over the years, I’ve lost total use of my legs. Because of this, I rarely leave the house.
My days are spent watching the clock for the time my carers visit.

I feel so isolated and lonely.
I wish I could live the life of a normal 22-year-old instead of the life of a 90-year-old.
