Last week, a letter arrived with the words “final notice” printed on the front.
I sort out all our bills, so I thought it must have been a mistake.
But it was a default notice, stating that my partner owed the bank £150 for a missed payment for his credit card – one I didn’t know he had.
When I confronted him about it, he admitted that he was in a “little bit of trouble”.
He’s overdrawn on both his bank accounts and owes £5,000 on his credit card.

I’m less annoyed at the money – that’s fixable.
What’s got to me is the fact he’s lied to me for months.
