My hubby smokes weed and drinks beer to sleep despite expecting our second child
DEAR DEIDRE: WITH our second child on the way, I’m desperate for my husband to stop smoking weed.
He’s 34, I’m 32. He started after the birth of our first son two years ago.

He’s always been a worrier and was struggling to sleep.
I didn’t mind as he would only do it once or twice a week – when he really needed some rest.
But since we found out we’re expecting again, he’s been smoking more.
He’s also drinking more. Most nights he needs cannabis and a couple of beers to get to sleep.

He’s tried going cold turkey many times, but only ever lasts a few weeks.
I don’t want our children growing up in a house where they think that’s normal behaviour.

Encourage him to speak to his GP and ask to be referred for cognitive behavioural therapy which will teach some coping techniques.
