I am petrified of using public loos and no longer want to go out

It’s fine if I can pop out for a quick shop.

I know I can make it home in time to use my own toilet.
I’m a 58-year-old woman. But the thought of using the public loos makes me queasy.

I hate it when the dirty water splashes up and wets my backside.
I’ve started to turn down days out because of this. Is there a way I can make sure the toilet is clean?
DEIDRE SAYS: You are developing an obsession that is limiting your lifestyle.
This is where a concern takes over your life to the point of being ritualistically ingrained in it – known as OCD, or obsessive compulsive disorder.
In the short term, you could try putting a couple of sheets of paper in the toilet bowl to stop any splashing up.
But please also consider getting support for your OCD. Talk to your doctor and ask to be referred to a therapist.
