I throw myself at my husband to stop him from nagging me
DEAR DEIDRE: I GET verbal abuse from my husband, and when I can’t argue any more I throw myself at him like a piece of meat.
Sex always wins him over and he is OK for a few days.
It then all kicks off again, with him complaining about the state of the house or me not picking things up off the floor.

He says I’m not house-proud but everything is clean and tidy.
I answer him back and he doesn’t like it. He says I’m like a broken record.
I do love him but things never change. I’ve put such a lot into this relationship.
He is 50 and I’m 44. Our children are all teenagers but I don’t like them hearing us arguing.
DEIDRE SAYS: Every couple argue now and again but if it is a regular thing, it’s damaging for children to hear as they feel it is how normal relationships work.
Abusive name-calling and constant yelling is overstepping a boundary.
Standing up for yourself makes your situation worse, so be the adult and walk away when things get nasty.
