DEAR DEIDRE: I LEFT a brilliant girlfriend to return to my wife and kids, but I worry I’ve made a terrible mistake.
I am a guy aged 41, my wife is 40 and we have been married since 2003. I’ve felt unvalued by her for years.
I left her and our two kids, by then both teenagers, two years ago. I met another woman six months later. She’s 37. We got on great.
I was my happiest ever and we moved in together. But I felt guilty about my family, especially my sons, so I left my girlfriend and eventually moved back home before Christmas. My girlfriend was devastated.
My family are happy I’m back – at least the boys are – but I feel so devalued and hurt all over again.
I’ve tried to tell my wife what is making me so unhappy but she seems unable to change and I miss my girlfriend so much.
