DEAR DEIDRE: MY partner complains non-stop about how close I am with my family. He has a bad relationship with his family and resents how well I get on with mine.
I stopped babysitting my brother’s kids for his sake but he doesn’t want to go on the outings I enjoy with my family.

We invite him but he says no, then makes me feel bad for going while he’s at home.

He probably needs to be honest with himself about sad feelings from his past.
Ask him to make the effort sometimes to come with you. If he digs in and still refuses to change, be very wary of moving in with him.
