COLD FEET

Me and the guy I’m seeing don’t spend much time together and I’m starting to question the relationship

DEAR DEIDRE: ME and the guy I’m seeing meet once or twice in the week and do our own thing at weekends. Is this really a relationship?

We’re both 33 and we do get on well, but have far more time apart than together.

Me and the guy I’m seeing don’t spend much time together and I’m starting to question the relationship

He likes to spend his holidays and other spare time going on birdwatching trips, which I don’t.

I don’t have a problem with that but it doesn’t seem like the kind of relationship my girlfriends have with their partners.

I told him he has more of a relationship with his birdwatching mates than he does with me but he says we’ll be fine.

So, is it a relationship or not?

DEIDRE SAYS: The issue is whether you have the kind of relationship you want.

It doesn’t sound like that to me.

Think about what you really want from your boyfriend and whether you are likely to get it from him.

If the answer is no, then it’s better to end it so you’re free to meet someone else.
