DEAR DEIDRE: MY partner’s ex-wife is telling everyone I had an affair with her husband and that’s why he left her. It’s not true.
His then-wife cheated on him then left him when he found out and confronted her. He was heartbroken and became a single dad to their two kids.

I was a single mum and met him at my son’s school 17 years ago. His ex then had three more kids with three different men. These kids call round to see my partner’s children. Her 15-year-old daughter was recently talking to me and said: “You broke up Mum’s marriage, didn’t you?” My mouth fell open. I was furious.
