My husband denies he’s having an affair but I know it only stopped because of lockdown
DEAR DEIDRE: MY husband denies he’s having an affair with a work colleague but I know only lockdown has stopped them – for now.
Over the years he has lied to me so many times.
He’s been on holiday with female colleagues, had one-to-one lunches and bought them gifts behind my back.
I’m 46 and my husband is 47. I’ve always forgiven him but he has become extremely close to one colleague this past year.
I went through his emails and discovered lovey-dovey messages.
When I confronted him, he agreed to cut contact with her. But I’ve seen more messages.
I know there has been no contact over the past few months but only because they’re both working from home. I’m heartbroken.

DEIDRE SAYS: No wonder. It is time for some honest thinking and talking.
Ask yourself whether you are ready to end your marriage if your husband won’t stop cheating.
If so, tell him either he joins you for couples counselling so he can start to control his behaviour or you are finished.
The alternative is to ignore his cheating. He clearly doesn’t want to leave you.
