Graham Phillips: A correction

An article published on 25 September 2022, headlined “Police investigate pro-Putin Brit who taunted Ukraine PoWs in videos following their capture”, reported that “Police [were] investigating a pro-Putin Brit [Graham Phillips] who taunted Ukraine PoWs”.

In fact, police had not confirmed that they were investigating Mr Phillips, who disputes that any such investigation was ongoing at the time of publication.

Further, the article also stated that Graham Phillips posted a video of himself interviewing and taunting Shaun Pinner - another UK national held prisoner by Russia after being captured fighting with Ukrainian forces - as well as Aiden Aslin.

Although Shaun Pinner believed it was Mr Phillips who talked to him, he subsequently discovered that it was a different individual, and video of the interview was not posted by Mr Phillips.

This correction has been published following an upheld ruling by the Independent Press Standards Organisation.”
