Cheltenham Festival 2019: Paisley Park comes from the clouds to win the Sun Racing Stayers’ Hurdle
Emma Lavelle's stable star stormed home for an emphatic win under Aidan Coleman
PAISLEY PARK confirmed himself the dominant stayer in training with a brilliant win in the Sun Racing Stayers' Hurdle.
The rapidly progressive seven-year-old came from the clouds to run down Sam Spinner in a memorable race.
Emma Lavelle's stable star, whose owner Andrew Gemmell has been blind since birth, hit his customary flat spot before the the second last.
He looked in deep trouble as the game Sam Spinner (40-1) and the smooth-travelling Faugheen (9-2) kicked on into the home straight.
But Paisley Park (11-8f) does not know when he's beaten, and once he hit top gear he mowed down the opposition and went away to win impressively, despite a last-flight blunder.
Sam Spinner bounced right back to form to finish second under a positive ride, with Faugheen weakening out of contention to finish third.
Lavelle said: "He's delivered for us the whole season and he's done it again. I'm thrilled.
"He was a bit further back that I expected but, but the man in charge (Coleman) knew what he was doing.
"There are so many people behind this horse and I think they just blew him up the hill.
"We're going to enjoy the moment. I can't say quite how bad our hangover is going to be in the morning!"
