Cheltenham passes precautionary inspection with day 2 of the Festival going ahead as expected
WEDNESDAY'S racing at Cheltenham will go ahead as planned as the course passed a precautionary inspection.
Officials at the track were due to inspect at 8am but called forward the process to give racegoers plenty of time to know the outcome.
Thankfully, the course was given the all clear and Ladies Day will take place as scheduled.
Cheltenham released a statement saying: "Racing at Cheltenham today will go ahead following a precautionary inspection.
"The strength of the winds has now moderated on the forecast allowing Simon Claisse, Clerk of the Course, to give the green light early in order to provide certainty to racegoers and participants before many journeys begin.
"We will continue to monitor the weather forecast moving forward."
