Cheltenham Festival 2019: Santini back on track but Fox Norton is ruled out after injury setback
Nicky Henderson has provided a positive update on leading RSA contender Santini
LEADING RSA Chase contender Santini is back on track for the Cheltenham Festival.
The seven-year-old had been nursing a sore foot after throwing a shoe during a workout on Sunday.
He has had his foot poulticed twice since the weekend to prevent an infection.
And champion trainer Nicky Henderson has now given his horse the green light to tackle the £175,000 Grade 1 next Wednesday.
Henderson tweeted: "All is well in the world with Santini this morning and we're firmly back on track for the RSA!"
But there was less positive news about Ryanair Chase challenger Fox Norton, who has been ruled out of the Festival following a setback.
The Colin Tizzard-trained dual Grade 1 winner has suffered a recurrence of an old injury.
He has returned in good form this season, finishing placed in two top-level contests at Ascot.
The nine-year-old also came within a head of winning the Champion Chase in 2017 when just touched off by Special Tiara.
Tizzard's son and assistant Joe said: "We're really disappointed, but unfortunately Fox Norton will miss the Ryanair next week due to a recurrence of an old injury."
