Cheltenham day 4 tips 2018: Lee Westwood’s betting picks… after backing 13 winners at the Festival so far

LEE WESTWOOD made his growing army of racing followers sweat on day three of Cheltenham, but he finished in a blaze of glory.

Westwood picked the last two winners – including 8-1 shot Missed Approach in the final race – to take his tally for the week to 13.

Lee Westwood arrives for day 4 having enjoyed a very profitable week at Cheltenham so far

Former world No 1 golfer Westy shares his tips for Gold Cup day with Sun readers here – and makes a bold bid to deliver the 1-2-3 in the showpiece race.

He said: “I needed that big finish yesterday after a bad case of ‘seconditis’ early on – four runners-up before I finally broke my duck.

“Actually it was quite nice to have another second in the last race – that made it a 1-2, and gave us a nice forecast of just over 53-1. That will pay for today’s bets.

“And I don’t want to hear any jokes about ‘Missed Approach’ being fairly appropriate for a golfer!

“Seriously though, I’ve really enjoyed Cheltenham his year, and sharing my tips with Sun readers.

“I hope we can finish on a high, but the fields all seem to be massive today, so fingers crossed: I’ve included some big priced horses, especially in the later races.”
