Punter turns £5 into £23k with ‘best treble of the season’ and 94th-minute winner
ONE lucky Ladbrokes punter celebrated a sensational win after a dramatic 94th-minute winner secured them just shy of £23,000!
The Hainault-based customer successfully predicted the half-time and full-time scores of three Dutch Eerste Divisie matches, at colossal odds of 4,560.25/1.
The winning bet
Ladbrokes
Half-time result/full-time result treble
- FC Emmen v Jong PSV – Jong PSV/FC Emmen (14.50)
- ADO Den Haag v FC Eindhoven – FC Eindhoven/ADO Den Haag (17.00)
- SC Cambuur v SC Telstar – SC Telstar/SC Cambuur (18.50)
Odds: 4,560.25/1
Total stake: £5
Total returns: £22,801.25
In an extraordinary £5 wager, they backed away teams Jong PSV, Telstar, and Eindhoven to be leading at half-time but to lose by full-time.
The first two legs of the treble went according to plan, but the final match between Den Haag and Eindhoven looked set to derail the dream bet as the teams entered injury time level at 1-1.
However, in a stunning twist, Den Haag left-back Sekou Sylla netted a last-gasp winner in the 94th minute, sealing an astonishing victory and ensuring the punter walked away with a staggering payout of £22,801.25.
Cal Gildart of Ladbrokes said: “Congratulations to our customer on one of the bets of the season.
"This quirky treble might have looked double Dutch on paper, but one person clearly had the courage of their convictions to land the best part of £23k.
"There's plenty of things a win like that can get you, but we've no doubt an ADO Den Haag shirt is top of this punter's wish list!"
