Devin Haney vs Ryan Garcia odds: Betting tips and preview
THE EYES of the boxing world will descend on the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Saturday, April 20th, when Devin Haney puts his WBC Super Lightweight title on the line against Ryan Garcia.
The two young fighters have a long and well-documented history dating back to their time in the amateurs, and they will both be vying to establish their position at the top of the light heavyweight division.
For Garcia, the match will provide him with his first shot at world championship gold, while Haney will want to cement his position as the hottest young prospect in boxing, building on an impressive 2023 win that saw him defeat Vasiliy Lomachenko and Regais Prograis in convincing fashion.
Which of these two young stars will be getting their hand raised in Brooklyn this weekend? In this Devin Haney vs Ryan Garcia betting preview, I’m going to take a look at what the bookies think, provide my own take on the action, and more.
Current Devin Haney vs Ryan Garcia odds
Saturday’s fight has all the makings of a classic, and the bookies have weighed in with their take on the action. Devin Haney is the clear favourite for the encounter, with bet365 pricing him at 1/8 for the win and with Ryan Garcia as the outsider at 5/1. If you want to back a draw, it is available at 18/1 with Bet Victor.

Devin Haney’s record
Devin Haney steps into the Barclays Center with a perfect unbeaten record. The 25-year-old has 31 fights under his belt, scoring a 31-0 record with 15 knockouts. The Dream has turned heads with his powerful performances, but while he possesses the power for a stoppage victory, he arrives off the back of nine consecutive points wins.
In his last two outings, he deserves his place at the top of the table with comprehensive wins over Vasily Lomachenko and Regis Prograis. The latter of these was one of the fighter’s most accomplished performances yet, scoring the win in every round and firmly establishing himself as the man to beat in the super lightweight division.
Ryan Garcia’s record
Ryan Garcia heads into Saturday’s bout with some question marks over his focus. The Flash has grabbed attention for some of his social media actions, with many questioning where his head is coming into the fight.
From a sheer boxing perspective, Garcia promises to be a tough test for Haney. The Californian suffered his first defeat to Gervonta Davis nearly a year ago, and he bounced back in emphatic fashion with a KO win over Oscar Duarte in December.
His record coming into the encounter is 24-1, with his only loss being the aforementioned defeat to Davis. This was a KO defeat and a fairly dominant one at that, with Garcia being knocked down twice before the ref called for the bell.
Devin Haney vs Ryan Garcia betting tips and odds
The Devin Haney vs Ryan Garcia fight does not offer a great deal of value in the result markets. As such, I’ve taken a look through some of the other markets for the fight and picked out three bets I believe present some value.
Devin Haney by Points at 13/20 (BetUK)
If current form suggests anything, it’s that a Devin Haney points victory is on the cards this weekend. The Dream has won his last eight fights by UD, and while he has the raw power at his disposal to take down Garcia in Brooklyn, a points win at 13/20 with Bet UK is a more sensible bet.
Garcia is an extremely talented fighter, but the two men’s records speak for themselves, with Haney possessing a better ring IQ and being the more ferocious and skilled of the two athletes. As such, I can see Haney being happy to take this one to the judges.
🥊 Bet on Devin Haney by Points at 13/20 with BetUK🥊
Fight to go the Distance - Yes at 4/7 (BetVictor)
Naturally, a points victory for Haney would suggest that the fight goes the round. While I wouldn’t rule out a Haney KO/TKO victory in the fight, the fight going the distance and being settled on points feels like a more sensible option.
Haney’s last eight fights have gone to the judges, while none of Garcia’s last three have. However, Garcia was schooled by Gervonta Davis last year and will need to rethink his approach against a fighter as skilful as Devin Haney.
If you think the fight will go the distance, you can back it to do so at 4/7 with Bet Victor.

Total Knockdowns - Over 0.5 at 8/11 (bet365)
Saturday’s fight promises to be one for the purists, with Devin Haney’s ability to put on a technical masterclass unrivalled in the super lightweight division. While I have backed Haney to win on points, you can still expect him to take a chance to attempt a knockout if the chance arises, and we have seen Garcia get taken to the canvas on previous occasions. I think betting on the total number of knockdowns being over 0.5 at 8/11 covers your back and provides some good value with bet365.
🥊 Bet on the fight to last the distance at 8/11 with bet365🥊
