Money Train 4 slot review: RTP, bonuses & more
THE HUGELY popular railroad robbery series comes to the end of the line in style with the Money Train 4 slot game. I enjoyed the combined classy sound and visuals with some top gameplay, this volatile heist-themed slot delivers mammoth maximum payouts of 150,000 x bet.
I was quite excited to review Money Train 4. The eagerly awaited fourth and final instalment in the steampunk-style railroad adventure franchise, hit online casino shelves in September 2023. It’s a 6-reel, Scatter Pays video slot that comes with terrific design and features to match. The previous releases mean that Money Train 4 has plenty to live up to. Let’s see if the bandits hit those expectations.

The Money Train franchise has been one of the most popular series of slot releases from Relax Gaming. The Money Train 4 slot takes the central idea from the other games but ramps up the action courtesy of added characters and some exciting features.
I could enjoy playing using a 6-reel, Scatter Pays game engine. If I was able to land 8 or more of the same high-value symbol or 10 or more of the lower-value symbols on a spin to create a winning combination.
Gameplay highlights include re-spins with possible multipliers as well as the Money Cart Bonus feature where 20 different modifiers can deliver plenty of action. The Money Heist 4 maximum win is 150,000 x your total bet! Keep reading as I'll show you all the key facts and figures for playing this game.
What are the Money Train 4 slot bet limits?
Bet levels in Money Train 4 start at 10p, rising to a maximum of £6 per spin. I could have adjusted my stake by clicking on the Coins icon and then using the + and – buttons. In some jurisdictions, but not the UK, autoplay is available. I was able to set up to 1,000 auto spins, as well as win and loss limits. You can click on the icon featuring the two arrows below the spin button to get this up and running.
What is the Money Train 4 RTP and volatility?
The Money Train 4 RTP is 96.1% which is a touch above average of what I expected. There’s also a 94% version and a 90% edition in Germany. Try and find the high RTP version if you can. The volatility in Money Train 4 is very high. On a scale of 1 to 5, I would put the volatility at a maximum of 5. The hit frequency rate is 20.14% so on average, a winner hits on every 1 in 5 spins.
🤠 What is the Money Train 4 theme?
An arid desert landscape is the setting for the Money Train 4 video slot. It reminded me of the recent version of the classic sci-fi movie Dune and the classic apocalyptic Aussie adventure Mad Max. The reels are set in front of a futuristic train. The 6x6 game grid means 36 symbols are spinning on each spin. Despite that relatively large number, it’s always very easy to make out what’s what. The soundtrack has a sweeping orchestral feel which delivers plenty of scale and atmosphere. I found that it’s a good fit for the heist/steampunk theme here.
💎 What are the Money Train 4 symbols used?
You’ll see four playing card suit symbols and a quartet of bandits spinning around the reels in Money Train 4. The new addition to the gang in this fourth edition is the Arms Dealer character. There’s no Wild symbol but there is a bonus symbol that can reveal a value of between 1 and 10 x bet:
- Diamond: 10-36 pays 0.4 to 100 x bet
- Club: 10-36 pays 0.4 to 100 x bet
- Spade: 10-36 pays 0.5 to 125 x bet
- Heart: 10-36 pays 0.5 to 125 x bet

- Sniper: 10-36 pays 1.2 to 400 x bet
- Collector: 8-36 pays 1 to 500 x bet

🎰 What are the Money Train 4 bonus features?
Money Train 4 comes with a couple of extras. There’s a respins round as well as the Money Cart Bonus. Trigger the latter and there are a host of possible modifier extra combinations. Here’s what’s on offer:
Respins feature: This extra can trigger at the end of any spin. All examples of whichever symbol appears the most on the game grid are held. A respin the follows. If a matching symbol appears on the respin, it is also held and another respin follows. Look out too for special multiplier symbols. These also add another respin. The round ends when no new symbols lands. The final win amount is boosted by the combined value of the multipliers amassed during the respins.
Money Cart Bonus feature: Land 3 or more Bonus symbols on the same spin to activate Money Train’s trademark feature offering, the Money Cart Bonus. The triggering symbols then reveal a value which will be a multiple of your bet size. You could also see a Persistent Symbol. These deliver their extra multiple times rather than just once. You’ll then receive 3 spins on a new machine that starts 6 reels and 4 rows high.
If you manage to fill a row with symbols, the game grid expands to open up another row, up to a maximum of 8 rows. Each time a new symbol lands, the number of spins resets to 3. Special symbols can deliver a variety of extras throughout the Money Cart bonus. Each character has its own set of extras. Here’s what they offer:
- Collector: This symbol collects all the values on display elsewhere on the reels and adds them to its own total.
- Persistent Collector: This symbol collects all the values on display elsewhere on the reels and adds them to its own total at the end of every spin. It doesn’t collect its own value though.
- Adjacent Collector: This collects the value on the 8 adjacent symbols and adds them to its own.
- Persistent Adjacent Collector: Land this to collect the values from the 8 adjacent symbols every spin.
- Payer: This symbol reveals a multiplier value which is then applied to the other symbols on the reels.
- Persistent Payer: This does the same as the Payer, adding multipliers, but it does so at the end of every spin that follows.
- Adjacent Payer: All adjacent symbols receive a multiplier value.
- Persistent Adjacent Payer: A bet multiplier is applied to all symbols adjacent to this one at the end of the spin and on each subsequent spin.
- Sniper: When this symbol hits, the sniper takes aim at between 3 and 8 symbols and doubles their value. The sniper can take aim at the same symbol multiple times.
- Persistent Sniper: The sniper doubles the value of between 3 and 8 symbols at the end of each spin left in the bonus.
- Collector Payer: 3, 4 or 5 symbols are targeted. The values are added to the Collector Payer’s own value. The updated totals are then paid.
- Persistent Collector Payer: 3, 4 or 5 symbols are targeted at the end of each spin, the values are added to their own and the updated total values are paid.
- Arms Dealer: Between 1 and 4 Bonus symbols convert into feature symbols. Once converted the feature symbols performs their actions.
- Persistent Arms Dealer: One bonus symbol converts into a Feature symbol at the end of each spin.
- Necromancer: This re-activates between 2 and 7 non-persistent Feature symbols which have previously been used.
- Persistent Necromancer: Between 1 and 7 previously used non-persistent Feature symbols are brought back to the life on the end of this spin plus any spins that follows.
- Persistent Shapeshifter: This symbol turns into one of Collector, Payer, Sniper, Collector Payer, Arms Dealer or Unlocker on each spin.
- Unlocker: This symbol unlocks at row that has previously been locked.
- Reset Plus: This increases the starting value of the spins left count by one.
- Upgrader: When this lands, between one and three feature symbols are upgraded to their Persistent version.
- Buy feature: Players can enter the bonus round by using the buy feature. To start the feature, you can either choose to trigger the feature 100 times your wager or 500 times your bet with one persistent symbol.
The Money Cart Bonus feature ended when I have used up all my spins or If I would have landed the maximum payout. Players in some countries have the chance to buy their way in with 2 options. For 100 x bet, I got the standard feature. For 500 x bet, I got the Persistent version with at least 1 Persistent Symbol is active. Both have a 96.5% RTP which is slightly better than the 96.1% RTP offered in standard play.
