ENGLAND and their last-gasp victory over Ireland at Twickenham has ensured that the Six Nations title race will go to the final round of fixtures.

Ireland remain heavy favourites to retain their title at 1/100 with most bookmakers, but defeat to Steve Borthwick's side means they can no longer claim back-to-back Grand Slams.

Andy Farrell's side will be crowned champions if they beat or draw with Scotland in Saturday's showdown at the Aviva Stadium, Dublin.

However, there are still a few different permutations that could see the championship change hands on 'Super Saturday' in the Six Nations.

Six Nations 2024

As mentioned, there is little doubt that Ireland will be crowned Six Nations champions.

Put simply, the Irish need to beat or draw with Scotland to retain the title.

They could even win if they lose but secure a bonus point or finish within seven points of Scotland due to their superior points difference.

An Ireland defeat without a bonus point will probably still be enough if England win without a bonus point.

England are around the 22/1 mark with the bookies, but a number of things would have to go their way including gaining a bonus point against a rejuvenated France in Lyon on Saturday night.

As for the Wooden Spoon…

Italy have finished last for the past nine seasons but their win over Scotland means they sit four points above winless Wales, who haven't finished bottom in 21 years.
