Women’s singles Wimbledon odds

It’s no surprise to see the three players who have dominated women’s tennis in 2023 at the top of the betting market for Wimbledon.

Recent French Open winner Iga Swiatek and reigning Australian Open champion Aryna Sabalenka are joint favourites in the Wimbledon betting odds, with last year’s Wimbledon queen Elena Rybakina tucked in just behind with most sportsbooks.

  • Iga Swiatek to win at 19/10 with BetUK
  • Aryna Sabalenka to win at 4/1 with Ladbrokes
  • Elena Rybakina to win at 4/1 with bet365
  • Ons Jabeur to win at 9/1 with Sky Bet
  • Petra Kvitova to win at 12/1 with BoyleSports

How to read Wimbledon odds

Most UK bookmakers use fractional betting odds, such as 4/1:

  • The number on the left is the profit you would make if you stake the amount on the right.
  • So, if a player wins at 4/1, for every £1 placed on that outcome, you would make a £4 profit.
  • For example, a £20 bet would make a profit of £80.

How many sets are played in women’s Wimbledon singles matches?

Two or three. The Wimbledon women’s singles draw is played in the best-of-three sets format, meaning the winner of each match is the first to win two sets.

Wimbledon women’s singles 2023 predictions

So, what punters really want to know is who will win the 2023 Wimbledon ladies’ singles title?

Let’s take a look at the best bets now that we are well into the tournament's early days.

Elena Rybakina

Rybakina surged to a somewhat surprising victory at Wimbledon last year but 12 months on is very much among the front-runners for the title with best odds of 9/2.

She’s shone on the WTA Tour so far in 2023, capturing two of its biggest prizes in Indian Wells and Rome.

With one of the biggest serves in the game, Rybakina’s attacking philosophy is ideally suited to the grass and she will be the one to beat again in SW19 this year.

BET NOW

Karolina Muchova

Muchova was the shock runner-up at the recent French Open where it took world number one and clay great Iga Swiatek to stop her title bid.

The Czech’s impressive form should set her up nicely for the grasscourts on which the variety in her game should work well.

In particular, an excellent slice should help keep the ball low and nullify the threat of opponents.

BET NOW

Elina Svitolina

New mother Svitolina was another who caught the eye at the French Open, playing the best tennis seen from her since giving birth to daughter Skai in October.

Svitolina beat two seeds, including top-10 star Daria Kasatkina, en route to the quarter-finals in Paris to prove she’s still very much a contender at this level.

The Ukrainian made the last four of Wimbledon in 2019 and could be one of those who benefit from what has been a dry British summer so far – the courts look likely to be firmer than usual.

Won’t be seeded but with a favourable draw would make current odds of 200/1 look big.

BET NOW

Time to look at some of the most popular types of bet on offer ahead of Wimbledon, starting with the outright markets and then looking at individual match markets.

What type of bets can I make on Wimbledon women’s singles?

  • Outright tournament betting – Basically, you are betting on who will win the tournament. This is a market which was opened immediately after last year’s Wimbledon so is widely available.
  • Quarter betting – Once the draw is known – it will take place on Friday June 30 – many bookmakers will open markets on which player will win each quarter of the draw. Essentially, you are betting on which player will make the semi-finals.
  • To win without losing a set – Another pre-tournament market which is often priced up. Will a particular player (or any player at all) win the event without losing a set. The last player to do this in the Wimbledon ladies’ singles was Marion Bartoli in 2013.
  • To win the match – Once matches get under way, the most popular bet is which player will win a particular match. Does what it says on the tin.
  • Total games – You are betting on the total number of games in a match and you bet over or under a particular line. For example, if the line is set at 19.5 games, you can bet on there being 20 or more games or 19 or fewer.
  • Game handicap – You still bet on the outcome of a match but a handicap is applied with the underdog given a head start (a particular number of games – for example, 3.5). At the end of the match, the number of games won by each player is added up and then the handicap is applied to determine the winner of the bet.
  • Set betting – You bet on the correct score of the match in terms of sets won. In the ladies’ singles, each match has four possible outcomes – 2-0 and 2-1 to each player.
