UNLESS you've been living under a rock, you'll know that Ladbrokes are one of the most recognisable betting companies in the UK with a rich history dating back to 1886.

They are undoubtedly one of the top heavyweights in the industry, but after more than a century, do they still pack a punch?

I signed up and quickly realised exactly why Ladbrokes remain a big player with UK punters.

Ladbrokes offer customers a huge range of betting markets along with a smart, simple interface and a bundle of innovative free games with attractive bonus features.

On this page, I will take a closer look at Ladbrokes, and the betting offers awaiting both new and existing customers.

Latest Ladbrokes offers and bonuses for sports

Sports betting punters at Ladbrokes can take advantage of a range of promotions. Some are specific to a particular sport, while others are more generic. The following are the offers available at Ladbrokes today:

Bet £5 get £20 in free bets

My first task was to take advantage of Ladbrokes' welcome bonus, which gifts new customers £20 in free bets when signing up. I'm glad to report the process was very straightforward. Shortly after placing a £5 bet at odds of 1/2 or greater, I received four £5 free bet tokens, which were valid for seven days.

The stake is not returned, which is standard practice in my experience, with only winnings made from free bets being available to withdraw. I had no problems getting the welcome bonus having deposited using a debit card, but it's certainly worth noting that deposits made using prepaid Cards, Moneybookers, InstantBank, PayPal, Paysafe, Neteller or Skrill are not eligible.

Love a free game, me. And this one couldn't be simpler. Successfully predict three scores in order to win up to £100 in cash or free bets. Predictions must be made ahead of kick-off on selected football matches. Even if you do not predict all three scores correctly, you will earn a £5 free bet for a double or a £1 free bet for a single accurate prediction.

I've noticed quite a few bookmakers offering acca insurance these days, and Ladbrokes are no different. Punters placing an insured football accumulator featuring at least 5 selections will receive a free bet if just one pick lets their bet down. I would like it to be higher, but it's currently available up to £10 and the promotion applies to Match Result, Both Teams to Score, Match Result and Both Teams to Score, Correct Score and or Over/Under Total Goals markets.

Things I love about Ladbrokes

I think there are many reasons why Ladbrokes continues to attract punters in the UK. Below are a few of my main highlights of the bookie:

Things Ladbrokes could improve

There are very few limitations of Ladbrokes. However, there are a few areas in which the bookie could potentially make improvements:

  • Their welcome offer (£20) is a bit low compared to other bookmakers
  • Most promotions surround football and horse racing

How to claim your bonus

As discussed, claiming my £20 worth of free bets as a brand new customers took a matter of moments and it's certainly worth taking advantage of. Below is a guide to claiming your bonus:

  1. Register an account at Ladbrokes on desktop or mobile.
  2. Deposit £5+ using a debit card.
  3. Place a sports bet of at least £5, at odds of 1/2 or greater, within 14 days.
  4. Upon your qualifying bet settling, receive 4x £5 free bet tokens.
  5. Use your free bets within 7 days.

Ladbrokes payment methods

In order to fund bets at Ladbrokes, punters must deposit money to their sportsbook account. A variety of payment methods can be used, although I would highly recommend using a debit card to claim your initial welcome bonus.

As you would expect, debit cards are accepted, including Visa and Mastercard options.  Meanwhile, e-wallets PayPal, Neteller, Skrill and Trustly are also available, along with Apple Pay

It is also possible to add funds to your online account in Ladbrokes betting shops. There are no processing fees to worry about at Ladbrokes either.

What is the Ladbrokes minimum deposit?

The minimum amount that punters at Ladbrokes can deposit will depend on the payment method selected. In most cases, just £5 can be added to your account in a single transaction. However, customers using Skrill, Neteller and bank transfer will find that they can deposit a minimum of £10.

What are the withdrawal times for Ladbrokes?

While deposits at Ladbrokes are instant, withdrawals will take between 1-5 working days. If you wish to get your hands on winnings quickly, using an e-wallet is the best option.

While all withdrawals are processed within 24 hours, they are completed within a matter of hours when using the likes of Skrill and Neteller. I found that PayPal withdrawals would also be paid into my account within a few hours -- much quicker then the 1-3 days when using a debit card.

Finally, bank transfers can take up to 10 days for withdrawals.

How to use cash out feature

The cash out feature at Ladbrokes makes it possible to settle bets before their completion. Punters will do so in order to lock-in a profit or cut their losses when things don’t go to plan. The bookie will offer punters a price to cash out, based on what is taking place on the pitch, court or track.

Bets can be cashed out on both desktop and mobile, with the relevant button being found in the “My Bets” section. You can also cash out bets in-store using the Ladbrokes Grid Card mobile app.

I should mention that only full cash out is available. This is in comparison to some other betting sites, where partial and auto cash out options are found. Most punters, including myself, will cash out on desktop or mobile. So, I have provided a guide on how to do so below:

  1. Login to your Ladbrokes account and access the “My Bets” section.
  2. Select the relevant bet.
  3. When you are ready, click/tap on the “Cash Out” button.
  4. The word “Success” will be displayed when your cash out has been processed.
  5. Funds will then be automatically added to your account balance.
