CASH OUT has become one of my favorite features on betting sites in recent years. Being able to settle my bets early has completely changed how I approach wagering. Now, almost every online bookmaker offers cash out, which is fantastic.

If you're like me and want to secure a profit or minimize losses, then the cash out feature is definitely something you'll love. On this page, I will discuss the best cash out betting sites in the UK. I will also explain how the different types of cash out work and how to use them to your advantage.

What is cash out betting?

Before the cash out feature was introduced, bets only had two possible outcomes, win or lose. However, punters like me can now take charge of their bets much more. Bets can now be settled early, before events have finished. There are different instances in which you may wish to cash out a bet. For example, if the football team you have backed to win concedes an early goal.

However, it can also be used to guarantee a profit is made. Your chosen bookie will offer a specific amount in return for bets being settled. Full cash out is the most common, with partial and auto cash out options also being available on many of the best betting sites nowadays too.

Best cash out betting sites we work with

The vast majority of leading bookies offer cash out options. As a result, it can be difficult for punters to decide which site is best for them. Personally, I've found that our partner sites like bet365, BetUK, BetVictor, Betway, and William Hill stand out as top choices. While they appear almost identical at a glance, a more detailed look shows that they operate differently when it comes to cash out.

1. bet365

At bet365, I love the flexibility of having full, partial, and auto cash out options available. Cash out is available on the majority of markets, including pre-match and in-play singles and multiples. Football, tennis, horse racing, basketball and cricket are among the sports covered. When you wish to leave a proportion of your stake in play, use the slider. Cash out at bet365 is available on desktop and mobile.

2. BetUK

The cash out feature at BetUK is available on selected pre-match and live markets, again including singles and multiples. I find it a bit limiting that there are no partial or auto cash out options. As such, punters can only cash out their bets in total.

3. BetVictor

BetVictor is another favorite of mine, mainly because of its full and partial cash out options. I appreciate that it's available on various sports markets like football, tennis, basketball and horse racing markets, including total goals, set winner, handicap and each-way. Requests are subject to a time delay, with cash out being available on desktop and mobile.

4. Betway

At Betway, I enjoy the wide range of sports and markets where cash out is available. The relevant icon will appear next to eligible markets, with single, multiple and system bets qualifying. However, I do wish they offered cash out on each-way picks. Both full and partial cash out options are available, with no auto cash out option being found at this time.

5. William Hill

Under the “My Bets” section at William Hill, the cash out option will feature when eligible. Available on pre-match and in-play singles and multiples, punters can decide whether to cash out their bet in full. No partial or auto cash out functions are available.

What football cash out markets are available?

As a football fan in the UK, I absolutely love how football is the most popular sport here. It's incredible to see millions of bets being placed on matches, whether it's the Premier League, Champions League, or World Cup, with millions of bets being placed on matches. The majority of football markets will be eligible for cash out. Below are some of the most common football markets where punters can settle bets early on:

  • 1x2
  • Over/under goals
  • Both teams to score
  • Double chance
  • Half-time/full time
  • Asian handicap
  • Draw no bet

How I cash out a bet at a bookie

Cashing out a bet is a simple and stress-free process. While the steps required vary slightly between bookies, the basic principle is the same across the board. The following is a step-by-step guide for punters in the UK to follow:

  1. First, I log in to my betting account using my username and password.
  2. Then, I browse through the sportsbook markets and add my selections to the bet slip.
  3. Next, I enter the stake and place my sports be.
  4. As the games progress, I keep track of how my selections are doing.
  5. When I see the cash out option available on my active bets page, I pay attention to the amount being offered.
  6. Depending on whether I want to cut my losses or lock in returns, I simply select the "Cash Out" button.
  7. Once confirmed, the cashed-out amount is immediately added to my account balance.

How cash out values are calculated by bookies

The cash out value is calculated using the potential earnings of the bet, as well as the current in-play odds. The best way to explain how this works is to give an example. Let’s say that you have placed a £10 bet on Aston Villa to beat Liverpool at odds of 3/1. Villa lead 2-0 at halftime, with their odds to win the match having shortened to EVS as a result.

So, the £40 potential returns, divided by the current odds would equal £20. Unfortunately, this is unlikely to be the amount offered by bookies to cash out. This is because their margin is added. As a result, a cash out value of around £18 or £19 is to be expected.

The pros and cons of using cash out betting sites

When to cash out a bet

Unfortunately, there is no rule when it comes to the timing of cashing out bets. TThat's why I make sure to monitor my selections' progress and the cash out value closely. My decision to cash out depends on my strategy and goals. Sometimes I'll cash out as soon as I'm in profit, while other times I'll hold out to see how close I can get to maximizing my potential winnings. It's all about adapting to the situation and staying true to my objectives.

When not to cash out a bet

I have already discussed many of the benefits of cash out. However, there are times as to when it is best to avoid using the feature. Successful bettors will master the right time to cash out, as well as when to leave wagers running.

Sometimes, after placing bets, I find myself unable to monitor the event and the cash out value as closely as I'd like. In such situations, I'm left with no choice but to check the outcome of my bet later on. Simply put, cashing out needs to align with my overall betting strategy and be used judiciously.

Why do I love cash out bets?

Cash out bets come with a host of benefits, with the following being a breakdown of the standout pros of the betting feature:

  • The ability to settle bets early makes it possible to guarantee a profit or cut losses.
  • Cash out lowers the volatility of sports betting.
  • It is an easy feature to use on both desktop and mobile.
  • Cash out can be used in conjunction with selected betting promotions and other features.

Do all bookies offer cash outs?

Due to the demand from bettors, online bookies have been forced to offer cash outs. As a result, a betting site that does not offer a cash out feature will automatically be at a disadvantage, due to it being less attractive to punters. All of the leading UK bookies now come with cash out, whether it be full, partial, auto or all three.

How do I know if a bookie offers cash outs?

Most online bookies will make it clear as to whether they offer cash outs, as well as which markets the feature is available on. In many cases, a specific icon will appear next to eligible markets. Meanwhile, betting sites will also feature cash out terms and conditions. If you are still unsure of which bookies allow their customers to settle bets early, simply select one of the cash out sites found on this page.

Can I cash out on a mobile betting app?

The short answer to this question is yes. It doesn’t matter whether you are operating on a desktop or mobile platform, you can cash out bets with relative ease. This is the case on mobile betting apps, which are generally available to download on iOS and Android devices. In fact, with enhanced usability and speed, betting apps actually make it easier to process a cash out.

Will I pay fees for cashing out a bet?

Another selling point of the cash out feature is that it does not come with any fees. Punters deciding to settle bets early will take home 100% of the cash out value as a result.
