Lynsey Barber
Lynsey Barber is a journalist on The Sun's money desk in the UK and focusing on personal finance and consumer issues and with a particular interest in pensions and benefits, including Universal Credit. She joined the Sun in 2021 as a senior consumer reporter before becoming assistant head of consumer in 2022, consumer news editor in 2023 and consumer editor in 2024.
At The Sun she has produced exclusive news and features ranging from Greggs axing jobs during the pandemic, to the impact of Covid and the cost of living crisis on low-income households. Lynsey has also helped The Sun campaign for change to unfair Universal Credit rules which penalised mums wanting to return to work and pushed them into debt.
