Colin Hart

Colin Hart is the most experienced and well-connected boxing writer in the world. He joined SunSport in 1969. He has covered historic fights such as Muhammad Ali vs Joe Frazier and the Rumble in the Jungle when Ali beat George Foreman in 1974. He has filed from world title cards involving Mike Tyson, Frank Bruno, Lennox Lewis, Sugar Ray Leonard and Joe Calzaghe. He reported from beside the ropes when Michael Watson was put into a 40-day coma by Chris Eubank at White Hart Lane in 1991. Colin was also trackside when Ben Johnson won the 1988 Olympic 100m gold in Seoul, only to test positive for banned stanozolol hours later.  In 2011 he was awarded the BWAA's Nat Fleischer Prize for excellence in boxing journalism and in 2013 was induced into the Colin's six decades of boxing journalism were documented in , an autobiography he co-authored with Brian Doogan. It documents how he grew up in East London during World War II and took shelter from the Luftwaffe in the city's underground with his family, before falling in love with boxing in Britain's breeding ground of champions.
