DOWNTON Abbey star Lesley Nicol has become an unlikely model for Vogue
magazine.
Lesley, who plays homely cook Mrs Patmore in the ITV1 hit, donned a dress by
designer Marina Rinaldi before being photographed by top snapper Bruce Weber
for the mag’s German edition.
She said: “You wouldn’t normally think of me doing this type of thing. But the
commissioning editor of German Vogue is a big fan of Downton and Bruce said
that Mrs Patmore is his favourite character. It was divine and it’s all
because of the show.”
Weber also snapped Lesley’s co-stars Michelle Dockery and Rob James-Collier
for the issue, which will be published next month.
– ITV has commissioned a drama adaptation of best-selling novel The Ice
Cream Girls, which follows two schoolgirls who are accused of killing their
teacher.
Spooks star Lorraine Burroughs and Jodhi May will play Serena Gorringe and
Poppy Carlisle, who, after the 1995 allegation, lead very different lives.
Then, in 2013, they are forced to confront each other and their dark, shared
history.
Serena is now married, with a 15-year-old daughter Vee. She is back in her
home town for the first time, caring for her dying mother.
Poppy served 17 years for a crime she insists she didn’t commit – and is
determined to find out who did.
