AXED Hollyoaks star Stephanie Davis was booted off the show after turning up
drunk.
The party-loving actress, who has played Sinead O’Connor since 2010, was
dumped by executive producer Bryan Kirkwood after arriving “in a real
state”.
Show sources told how Thursday’s incident was the latest of “at least 20”.
They also said Stephanie, 22, was banned from the British Soap Awards in May
amid fears she would embarrass Channel 4 bosses.
An insider claimed: “Steph has been a problem for a while. She has gone rogue
at least 20 times.
“Once I heard she was even prevented from picking up a baby on set as she
didn’t seem quite ‘with it’.
Stephanie, from Liverpool, regularly posts Instagram and Twitter snaps of her
boozy antics. A show source said: “She put us in an impossible situation. We
had no choice but to let her go. It wasn’t fair on the rest of the cast.”
Her character will not be killed off, leaving open the possibility of a return.
A spokesman for the star said: “Stephanie’s contract was terminated following
warnings and a final incident in which she turned up unfit to work because
of alcohol consumption.”
