A FORMER contestant on America’s Next Top Model has been hauled up in front of
American talk show host Doctor Phil McGraw to help fight her addiction to
METH.
Jael Strauss, 28, was a fresh-faced finalist in the eighth cycle the US show,
hosted by supermodel Tyra Banks.
But in a shocking forthcoming edition of Dr Phil’s talk show, Jael’s natural
beauty has been ravaged by her dependency on drugs.
Her family explain that her habit has rotted her teeth and left her body
covered in sores.
Jael’s family enlisted the help of Dr Phil,62, to try and help her with her
six-year battle with narcotics.
In the show, due to be aired in America tomorrow, Jael struggles to take
advice from the programme’s host.
She is living on the streets, and so Dr Phil, Jael’s brother Brandon, and
mother Debbie seek her out in her hometown.
Jael agrees to travel to Los Angeles to take part on the show.
But after physically resisting being put on the stage, she runs out in the car
park.
Dr Phil tells her: “This is the first time in ten years I’ve come out
here. To talk to you.”
Her family say Jael spiralled out of control after a close friend overdosed in
2007, when she was taking part in America’s Next Top Model.
She decided to remain in the show, and said at the time: “There was
never, never a question in my mind to leave the competition. My friend is
gone and I am still here living life to the fullest.”
