KERRY Katona has been declared bankrupt for a second time and
dropped as the face of a payday loan company.
The 32-year-old Atomic Kitten singer filed a petition at Wigan Country Court
yesterday under the name Kerry Jane Elizabeth Katona.
She first filed for bankruptcy in 2008 after reportedly failing to pay the
final £86,000 of a £417,000 tax bill.
The mum-of-four then had the standard one-year status extended for nearly
three years, with reports suggesting it was because she failed to meet
requirements set by the court.
Today payday lender Cash Lady said it is “with sadness” they are terminating
her contract because of her “current financial situation”.
The firm’s controversial advert — focussing on Kerry’s financial problems —
was banned by the ASA earlier this year.
The industry watchdog ruled the clip suggested debt could help fund a
celebrity lifestyle.
In the ad Kerry said: “We’ve all had money troubles at some point, I know I
have. You could see your bank and fill in loads of forms, but is there an
easier way to get a loan.
She added: “So if you need extra cash go to www.cashlady.co.uk. Fast cash
for fast lives.”
Today Kerry seemed resigned to the news, writing an upbeat message on Twitter.
She said: “Morning! Hold your head high and be proud, never be ashamed! Always
try your best and believe in yourself! Have a great day xxx”
