X Factor: Derry and Kelly? Not on your Nelly

EX-GANGSTER Derry Mensah has been left reeling – after being BANNED
from joining Kelly Rowland in the US.

The X Factor crooner sailed through Boot Camp auditions and hoped to end up
with Kelly as his mentor.

But the Destiny’s Child babe, 30 – who admitted she had a soft
spot for Derry – is staging her judges’ house in Miami.

And immigration rules mean ex-cons are not automatically allowed into the US.

Derry, 20, who was jailed for robbery, would have to apply for a visa that is
likely to be rejected because of his criminal past.

Instead, Kelly will mentor the girls in Florida next month with Usher or P
Diddy.

And Derry will be mentored by N-Dubz star Tulisa in Greece with the bands.

A source said: “Derry was gutted, as it would be a dream come true for him to
be mentored by Kelly. When he said on Saturday he loved her, he wasn’t
kidding.”

But Kelly’s insistence that Derry would work better in a band has saved him.

If he had remained a solo artist he would STILL face a judges’ house
ban – as Gary Barlow has the boys group and is taking them to Robbie
Williams’ LA pad next week.

Louis Walsh finished his round for the older singers last week in Barcelona,
Spain.
