CHRISTINE Bleakley flashed her engagement ring for the first time after Frank
Lampard popped the question this afternoon.
The Daybreak host showed off her huge sparkler – thought to be worth £120,000
– after touching down in Heathrow Airport.
The newly-engaged pair had returned from LA, where Chelsea ace Frank, 32, had
proposed to her during a romantic lunch by the beach.
They showed off their golden tans when they landed back in the UK.
And the loved-up couple looked surprisingly fresh-faced after their long-haul
flight and clung onto each other as they walked through Terminal 3.
They had acted like lovesick teenagers as they cuddled and kissed at LAX
airport last night.
The pair could not keep their hands off each other as they checked in for
their flight back to Britain.
Christine was seen beaming at the footballer as they made their way to the
departure lounge.
Christine told yesterday how she sobbed for ten minutes when she realised
Frank was going to propose.
She told her Daybreak colleagues Adrian Chiles and Kate Garraway: “I was
beyond shocked. And it wasn’t very glamorous, it wasn’t very fancy. I know
some people might expect that.
“It was very personal, very private actually, and we were just having a
gorgeous lunch by the beach and he simply popped the question, it was
completely out of the blue.
“Half-way through the lovey-dovey bit, I realised what he was about to do so I
started to cry for about ten minutes and then he pulled the ring out and
said ‘Will you marry me?’ and that was it.”
A date has not yet been set for the wedding but it will take place in Northern
Ireland, where Christine is from.
