HEAR’SAY singer Danny Foster has revealed he narrowly escaped a flaming car
over the weekend.
The musician, 36, shared a video on his Twitter page showing the vehicle up in
flames while firemen attempted to put out the blaze.
In the short clip, he can be heard shouting and running around having just got
out of the Vauxhall Zafira which he had been a passenger in along with his
friend Victoria Goddard.
Posting the footage on Twitter on Sunday, he wrote: “SHOCKED!! I was a
passenger! Vauxhall Zafira Fire – Are you safe? @VauxhallCustSvc THIS MUST
STOP! – Please RT Dx”

The cause of the inferno has not yet been revealed and the Pure and Simple
singer has not confirmed whether any injuries were sustained during the
incident.
Although Vauxhall are yet to comment, it
comes after they recalled thousands of Zafira models earlier this month
following claims from more than 130 people that their vehicles had
spontaneously burst into flames.
A statement from the car manufacturer’s chairman Rory Harvey at the time said: “Vauxhall
is continuing its investigations following reports of fire in the area of
the heating and ventilation system in a number of Vauxhall Zafiras (Zafira B
model launched in 2005, not current Zafira Tourer). While the number of
incidents is very low in proportion to the number of vehicles on the road,
we take this issue very seriously.
“The safety of our customers is our number one priority. Our
investigations so far have found that a number of incidents have occurred
due to improper repair of the blower motor resistor and its thermal fuse,
the item that protects the blower motor in event of a fault in or failure of
the motor. Should the thermal fuse within the resistor fail, the resistor
assembly should always be discarded, never repaired.”
But clearly shaken by the fire, Danny posted the footage online and his old
bandmate Kym Marsh also retweeted the video, writing: “Wow! Flipping
eck! I’m glad you’re ok! X”

The pair met on the ITV singing competition Popstars in 2001 and were put into
the band along with fellow members Myleene Klass, Suzanne Shaw and Noel
Sullivan.
Kym
quit the band in 2002 due to arguments with other members and the group
split later in the year citing “abuse from the public”.
Danny, who
auditioned for The Voice in 2013, now tours as the founder and frontman
of Danny Foster & The Big Soul Corporation.
