A SPECIAL National Television Award was created just for Poldark star Aidan
Turner — and he had no idea until he was called to the stage to collect it.
Dermot O’Leary explained that voters had been making such a fuss about the
Irishman, they had no choice but to make a special prize, the TV Impact
award.
With a surprised look on his face, the handsome Irishman revealed he had no
idea he was nominated.
He said: “You’ve seen the scything scene, the pecs speaks for themself.”
The 32-year-old then thanked his castmates and the crew who have helped make
the BBC’s Cornish period drama so successful.

Aidan later told The Sun Online that his heartthrob status HASN’T resulted in
more interest from the ladies.
He said: “There’s the odd time I get noticed a bit more. But has it
increased the flirting I get from the ladies? Not at all. It’s a disaster
right?”
But Aidan does have one huge female fame – his mum.
He said: “My mum is dead proud. I’ve never asked her about it [being a
sex symbol]. She’s proud of her boy.”
Viewers at home took to Twitter to heap even MORE praise on the pin-up.
“Guessing I need to watch #Poldark #AidanTurner,” said one.
His humbleness also won over the minority of the population who weren’t
already infatuated with him.
One viewer tweeted: “#AidanTurner is too precious. He really wasn’t
expecting that & he dedicated it to the cast of #Poldark. “The pecs
speak for themselves.”
